I’m Joshua Burkhow. I’ve spent years at the intersection of data, analytics, and AI, most recently as Chief Evangelist at Alteryx, where I help organizations see what’s possible when they put the right tools in the right hands.
But the thing that gets me out of bed isn’t enterprise software. It’s watching someone go from “I don’t really get AI” to “I just saved three hours on something that used to take all afternoon.”
That moment is what this site is about.
I started joshuaburkhow.com because I kept having the same conversation: smart, capable people asking me what AI tools to use, how to set them up, and whether any of this was actually worth their time. The answer is yes, but only if you approach it the right way.
Here’s what I believe:
AI should save you time, not create a new hobby. If you’re spending more time configuring tools than doing your work, something’s wrong.
You don’t need to understand how it works under the hood. You need to understand what it’s good at, where it falls short, and how to make it fit your day.
The best AI setup is the one you actually use. I’d rather you use one tool well than juggle five you barely touch.
I write practical guides, share honest tool reviews, and build resources for people who want AI to be useful without becoming their whole personality.
